The award-winning ICON A5 is an amphibious Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) that’s as comfortable landing or taking off on a runway as it is on a remote grass strip or the open water. It’s built for those who crave to experience the world in a way unencumbered by the typical confines of land and sea.
The A5’s incredible versatility sets it apart. The plane’s wingfold system enables it to be loaded onto a trailer and launched or recovered from a marina, or to be included as a valued addition to any tender fleet on a yacht. The A5 is low weight and takes up about as much room as an SUV parking spot.
Foremost in the development of the ICON A5 was an unyielding commitment to safety. The plane features a Spin-Resistant Airframe (SRA), a Complete Airplane Parachute (CAP), and an Angle of Attack (AoA) indicator that provides critical, yet intuitive flight data to pilots.
ICON’s commitment to safety continues with its own world-class flight training program, which the company built from the ground up. New pilots can earn their Sport Pilot License in as little as 20 flight hours, though instructors will work with students for as long as needed to make sure they are fully qualified to enjoy all that the A5 has to offer.
